Spelling Bee: The Word Game

🎮 Game Synopsis

The game is pretty simple: just look at the picture and spell the word that matches it. You can either click the letters on the screen or use your keyboard to type them. Using a keyboard is usually much faster than clicking the letters with your mouse. So, if you want to get a high score, using a keyboard is definitely the better option.

Before you start playing, you need to choose a content set to use. There are 30 different content sets available, and each set contains around 25 items to spell. You’ll be asked to spell each item once. There’s also an audio clip for every picture, which plays when the picture first appears on the screen.

You can also add your own pictures and audio clips. Just click the “Add” button on the content selection screen. Then, choose an image from your computer, and it will be added to the list. The name of the image file you upload will automatically become the target word you need to spell. For example, if you add an image named “beach holiday,” that will be the word you need to spell in the game. However, you can still change the target word by clicking the text box below the image. Keep in mind that the game doesn’t support numbers or special characters. They’ll be removed automatically because the on-screen keyboard only contains letters.

During the game, there’s a timer that starts running as soon as you begin spelling a word. If the time runs out before you finish spelling it, you lose and the game ends. The game will also end automatically once you’ve successfully spelled all the items in the selected content set, and then your score will be displayed. The further you progress, the faster the timer gets, making the game more challenging as you go.

If you choose the wrong letter, don’t worry—you won’t lose right away. You can keep trying until you find the correct letter. This lets you learn through trial and error, especially when you’re not sure how to spell a particular word.

The goal of the game is simple: by spelling words quickly and repeatedly, you can improve your spelling skills while becoming more familiar with vocabulary and the letters that make up each word.
